today we went to the computer lab. the google docs thing was pretty cool, and the shortened adresses were helpful, although i'll admit the only one i didnt finish in class was the one with the adress that you changed and i never thought to write it downn. :(

we learned about the all important 14th amendment today. i find it interesting how loops holes in the consitution were around for like 100 years and the blacks suffered before anyone did anything about it. equility should be finial, no something requiring fineprint specification >:(

while we dropped today (4/5), we had class yesterday, and we have begon to learn about the post-lincoln world.and the cut throat moves by the radical republican party against lincoln's successor. they were brutal

group work.  were still taking about how much of a jerk lincoln was to the south. no really seemed to like him then. like no one. its funny how history can make into a hero, he may have won a war, but he was a jerk. i dont think i would like him if i met him in person. i can never understand what he says anyway.

its been an itheresting week, monday was pretty average, we did group work with packets, learningabout what comes after the civil war, and i hadnt really known that incoln screwed the south over so bad. tuesday we has a sub, and consiquently, we got little done, we wrote those letters to lincoln from the point of view of a southerner. today we did more packet stuff. i dont like packet stuff.

test tomorrow. i feel like your going to grade the essay really harshly sence we can use the documents. oh well, better study. i think im taking the gettsburg quiz retake tomorrow morning. also, i'm using all your powerpints to study, but in the future can you please save them as .ppt not .pptx? pptx is the new format used in 2007 or newer and i cant open them in office 2003, and had to convert them with much dificulty. ppt works with all powerpoints. if it takes too much time dont bother but it would be nice because those downloadable powerpoints are proving to be a valuable study tool

today we watched an excert from the "Gettysburg" movie, which i thought was a fun treat for the class, and i really enjoyed the film. i also think that it helped me understand the event (although i know it was dramatized a bit) as aposed to taking notes and looking at maps.

ive been participating in class discusion more and ive found that while i was paying atention before, now i am remembering what i learned better, because i remember the arguments and discutions i had with you and the class. so while i imagine its helping my class partisipation grade, its also going to help my test/quiz grade

i took notes today on my iPod. while iPods can be very distracting (obviously) with all the games and music and such on them, i can understand why some teachers don't allow them. we never really asked you if we could use them, but you're lack of disapproval is good enough to me. it is really making a big difference to me. i have terrible hand writing, as I'm SURE you know, having to read it on all my tests and quizzes, so you can imagine how nice it is for me to have it in text  for studding. also, i can type way faster than i can write.

STILL trying to figure out how to put pictures in the dipity timeline, and i asked on facebook, but everyone just said that there was a url box where you had to paist a picure, but in he picture section i only see the option to log onto flickr or another photosharing sitesw... help?

i've been working on the dipity thing, and im havng trouble figuringout how to include a picture (which is required) it seems like you need an account on flickr or some other image hosting site. im probably just being stupid, but im sure ill figure it out. :/

1/26 tariffs

"Do you think the Issue over tariff, the differences in economy and states rights verses the federal government have been resolved or doyou think they will flair up again?"
My Answer:
Yes, i think Tariffs will definitely be a problem in the next few years. i think this for several reason. first, there's the fact many of the products we buy these days are made in far away countries where the labor is cheep and unregulated. in order to keep money from going abroad, the government needs to impose taxes on these products. Then there's the problem of the economy problems and the national debt. this means the government is going to have to do what ever it takes to get money in the future, and tariffs are excellent way to get this. So yes, i think tariffs are definitely part of our future as a nation.

wow its been a while sence i had history class, and thus had to blog. first id like to say that i did not like haveing a test the last day of school, but secound, i like a chapter where the main focus is the idealism of calvin and hobs... so this should be fun.
