Goals and Such

By now, in my sophomore year, I've reached the point where the goal making is an expected and well practiced part of new classes and teachers. However, despite the repetitiveness of it all, goal can be a helpful and powerful tool that will motivate me all year long, and if i don't reach them, push me harder next year. I'm not really sure weather these goals are supposed to be for this class, or for the year in general, so I'll try to stick to basics that can apply to both.

(1)Learn A LOT. Obviously, that why I'm here, and thus, i will always try to push my self to memorize, understand, and retain as much useful information as possible. This has always been a big problem, not because of lack of motivation or interest, but because i have a terrible memory. This year I intend to combat that more than in years past.

(2)Keep things STRESS FREE. I get very easily stressed out, which can really make school and life in general really, really bad. This makes me less likely to do work, which makes me even more stressed, and i  spiral down into anger and missed work. This year I want to never give my self the chance to start this deadly circle, by doing work when i get home, as apposed to late at night the night before it's due (like I'm doing right now...). This will have a positive effect on grade, social life, and even health, avoiding the sleep deprivation.

(3)My third and final goal is TO HAVE FUN. The words "Fun" and "history" are rarely used in the same sentence by a teenager, but last year Mr. Richard proved it was more than possible. This year, the majority of my teachers appear to be willing to let us enjoy the year as long as the work gets done, which means as long as I work hard, i can have the grades I want (and my parents want) and still have friends by the end of the year.

  1. The best way to remain stress-free is to stay on top of your work. Take advantage of down days in homework to work on long-term projects or maybe even a little extra study in areas that you don't feel comfortable. Also, ask questions.
