A very long time ago
At around 10:30 or so,
Revere and Dawes waited to see
where the British might be
When the lanterns were lit,
the riders could no longer sit
As they ran they gave a great shout
"the regulars are out!"
Latter on, to lexington they got
waiting for them was Prescott
As they moved onward,
they were stopped by a British guard
Prescott and Dawes got away,
but Paul was there to stay
but then Dawes fell of his horse
which made thing even worse
Alone and afraid only Prescott lasted
but he reached the patriots and their guns blasted
and that is how the midnight ride really occored
what most know is just what's rumored
